We might all still be waiting on the new Peaky Blinders movie, but Netflix satisfied us a bit Monday morning after they took to Twitter with first-look photos of Cillian Murphy back as Tommy Shelby. Since the show’s final season in 2022, fans have been eager for more.
Radio Times magazine reported in December 2023 that Steven Knight shared filming for the new movie was beginning this year. “I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment. I just sit down at the keyboard and start. It’s a bit like having a dream, for me. You sit there and all this stuff comes, and then you read it back and think, ‘That’s pretty good – but where did it come from?” Knight told Radio Times magazine. “The plan is to start shooting that in the middle of next year.”
Tom Harper is set to direct the new film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson are confirmed for the movie so far, apart from Murphy.

Netflix took to Twitter to release the first look of Cillian Murphy back in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film. Not only did they give their audience a photo of Cillian Murphy, but also Murphy alongside Steven Knight, creator of the BBC show.
Fans took to the platforms to show their excitement with some saying, “This one will be good for sure,” and others noting, “The reunion of Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight on set for the upcoming *Peaky Blinders* film is thrilling news for fans! With production officially underway, there’s a lot of excitement about how the story will continue and what new developments await Tommy Shelby…”
Not much has been released about the film apart from what Knight shared at The Royal Television Society’s London Convention.
“It’s set in the second world war and it’s really good.”
