Ali Hazelwood Announces ‘The Love Hypothesis’ Sequel

As the success and obsession with the latest adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s The Love Hypothesis grows, the New York Times bestselling author announced a sequel earlier this morning on her Instagram. Book lovers are finally getting more Adam and Olive in The Two-Body Problem, releasing February 2, 2027.

“The Love Hypothesis,” starring Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, released September 23 on Prime and ranked #2 in the US as of this afternoon. Iconic outfits, relatable press tours, and fan edits are flooding social media as people fall in love with Adam and Olive’s love story like it’s 2021 all over again (or 2018 for all our die-hard fan fiction lovers who read Head Over Feet).

Not only did we get a look at the cover, but Hazelwood shared that MCR is already developing a film based on the book for Amazon MGM Studios. Fans have already questioned if Reinhart and Bateman will reprise their roles as Olive and Adam, but nothing has been shared as of now. 

“I wrote a sequel to The Love Hypothesis is not a sentence I thought I’d say a year or so ago,” said Hazelwood on Instagram. “But now I weirdly can’t imagine a world in which The Two-Body Problem doesn’t exist.” 

While some fans may have dreamed up their own future for the pair, the ones who craved more can finally have it— a book lover’s dream.

“… If you want to read more about Adam and Olive, The Two-Body Problem spans a couple of years, and it’s a mix of slice of life, postdoctoral turmoil, and unflinching exploration of the hardest challenge one will face in a long-term relationship: deciding what to have for dinner. If you pick it up, I really hope you enjoy.”
